    Whispering Creek Cottage is a charming vintage English-style cottage designed especially for couples. Tucked into a quiet forest hollow, the cottage blends antique character with modern comfort and offers peaceful views of the seasonal triple-waterfall creek.


    Inside, the centerpiece is the open living room, kitchen, and dining area, creating a warm, inviting space to relax together. A stone fireplace adds cozy charm, and curated vintage pieces give the cottage a timeless, romantic feel. The kitchen is fully equipped for simple meal prep, and the dining nook is perfect for lingering meals or morning coffee. Though the space will take you back in time it is not without modern comforts and amenities.

    Float trips: Several sections like Pruitt → Hasty (7 miles) are popular for canoeing/kayaking.

    Pruitt is a well-known swimming area along the Buffalo River.

    Hiking Trails

    Lost Valley Trail: ~2.4 mi round-trip, easy to moderate. Leads through a box canyon, to caves, waterfalls, and a bluff shelter.

    Hemmed-in-Hollow: Longer and more challenging (~5 miles), but leads to one of the tallest waterfalls between the Rockies and Appalachians.

    Hawksbill Crag (Whitaker Point): Very scenic bluff-top outcrop with sweeping valley views.

    Triple Falls: A short (.5 mi) hike to a double (or triple) waterfall.

    Round Top Mountain Trail: Near Jasper (2.4 mi south on Hwy 7) — about 3 miles of loops, great views.

  • Getting There Directions

    Whispering Creek Cottage is located at the top of Jasper Mt. off hwy 7. If you are headed on hwy 7 south the County Rd NC 8389 is 2.5 miles from the Scenic Point Gift Shop on the right hand side of the highway. County rd 8389 is beside a tan house and across from a blue house with round rock on the front. If you go to the Cliff House then you have went two driveways too far. Turn around and the county rd NC 8389 will be the second rd down on the left. Once you are on NC 8389 go about 1000ft and look for a little cottage sitting in the woods on the right with a copper metal roof. You have arrived at Whispering Creek Cottage. The address is 136 NC 8389 Jasper Ar. 72641. GPS will not pick up this address so please follow the directions. Note that the county rd is only about 1000 feet of well maintained gravel. It is advisable to drive an all wheel drive vehicle. The gravel can be slick in a two wheel drive car.

  • Frequently Asked Questions

    Do I need to drive a four wheel drive? The cabin is located on a dirty county rd that is only about 1000 feet from the hwy 7.  We reccomend an all wheel drive vehicle as getting in and out the driveway could be difficult for a two wheel drive or a small car. 


    What do you supply?  Coffee, creamer, common spices sugar and sweetner, aluminum foil, coffee beans, assortment of tea, 2 rolls of paper towels and 2 rolls of TP,  a hopper full of pellets for the grill. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap.   This is in addition to common house hold amenities that will make you stay full and comfortable. 


    Do you allow pets?  We do not allow pets and please disclose servie animals prior to booking. 


    What is there to do in the area and the nearest grocery store?  Harps grocery in Jasper is the nearest grocery store.  Visit the Jasperarkansas.com website for a list of fun activities in the area. 


    How close is the nearest Buffalo River canoe access point? The national park service lists the 20 access along the Buffalo River.  You can download the app to make it easier to navigate.  Canoe Rental spots are Rio Buffalo River Outfitter

    How private is the cabin.  This is the only cabin on the 5 acre property sourounded by the forest. The cabin is located on a dead end road and the traffic down the road is sparse.  


    Is the hot tub operational year round?  Yes we keep the hot tub running all year for our guests to enjoy.
